The Wilo Group has been selected this year to participate together with 49 other worldwide operating companies in the global sustainability and climate protection initiative called "50 Sustainability & Climate Leaders".

The participating companies act on the basis of the 17 sustainability goals of the United Nations. “We are proud and happy to be part of this initiative.

The Wilo Group, as leading technology company in the pump industry, is committed to achieving better living standards worldwide and improving the efficiency of water management systems in the face of climate change,” explains Oliver Hermes, President & CEO of the Wilo Group.

From 21 to 25 September 2020, the Wilo Group is participating in the European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW), an initiative that aims to increase awareness of the need for sustainable action.

The European Sustainable Development Week takes place once a year and was initiated by Austria together with Germany and France.

At the invitation of NRW.Invest and Business Metropole Ruhr, a number of senior representatives from German and Chinese companies came together for the online event “Business Innovation Platform China”.

While the main focus was on economic development and innovative future strategies, the topic of so-called Smart Urban Areas, which are growing in importance as China’s metropolitan areas grow rapidly, was also high on the agenda.
